Lode MR Ergometer – Exercise instead of Medicine

The Lode MR ergometer has been specially designed for use within an MRI scanner. The Lode MR ergometers are designed to produce physical stress within an MRI device. The MR ergometer can be used for cardiac examinations, cardiac research, spectroscopy and other examinations and research.

The MR ergometer package contains the MR Ergometer mounted on a frame, specific for the table used with the MRI scanner. Furthermore the package contains the Power Unit, the Carrier, fibre optic communication cables and Lode Ergometry Manager (LEM) 10 software.

4 Models available:

  • Pedal
  • Push / Pull
  • Up / Down
  • Ankle Dorsal Flexion

Compatible with various MRI scanners

Our bespoke made frame can be adapted to fit on all major MRI scanner brands, such as; Phillips, GE and Siemans.

When we receive an enquiry we need to capture as much information as possible about your location and setting. This helps us to determine the correct ergometer for your requirements and to make sure we have the necessary documentation of your scanner. Integral to the functionality of the ergometer is the bespoke frame that secures the ergometer to the scanner bed.

What makes a Lode Ergometer?

The eddy current electro-magnetic braking mechanism is synonymous to all Lode Ergometers. Eddy current braking systems offer quiet, smooth, precise and adjustable control. Through design, this allows control of the workload without the need for physical contact between brake pads and the flywheel, reducing wear and tear.

High standards

Lode is a socially and environmentally responsible company. All Lode products are RoHS/WEE compliant and Lode is ISO 9001:2003, ISO 13485:2008 and FDA 510K certified. All medical products comply to MDD 93/42/EEC, incl. IEC 60601-1.

Perfect for Stress Testing inside the Magnet

The Lode MR ergometers workload is adjustable in 1 watt increments. The working range of the ergometer depends on the pattern of movement desired. The Pedal has a range of 10 to 300 Watts and the other models (Up/ Down, Push/Pull, Ankle flexion) have a range of 5 to 100 Watts.

This offers a wide working range for test subjects of all strengths and abilities. Each Lode MR Ergometer is standard supplied with the Lode Ergometer Manager 10 Software. Lode Ergometry Manager 10 enables the operator to program protocols, control ergometers, visualise, save and analyse ergometry data and print customised reports in PDF. Commonly used bicycle protocols are pre programmed as standard.

The program also provides a patient database and the possibility to connect to a SQL server or the Hospital Information System (HIS) with HL7. LEM 10 is also backwards compatible with previous versions, allowing you import and use your existing database easily.

Accuracy

For Pedal Ergometer:

Workload below 100w – Accurate within 3W

Workload between 100w – 300w – Accurate within 3%

For Up/Down, Push/Pull and Ankle Flexion Ergometers:

Workload below 100w – Accurate within 3W

Adjustable handgrips

When the MR Ergometer (Pedal) is fixated and the participant is positioned on the MRI table the last step before the test can start is to adjust the position of the handgrips, so that the participant can grab them during the test.

Carrying Frame for easy mounting and storage of the MR Ergometer

The ergometer is stored and transported to the side of the MRI scanner bed on the tiltable trolley frame. The trolley bottom is filled with sand in order to stabilise the frame as the ergometer is tilted onto the bed.

The MR Ergometer trolley has handles to adjust the height and tilt angle. All handles are easy to use and require minimal effort to move the ergometer to the desired position on or off the table.

Easy to Clean

All surfaces on the Lode MR Ergometer are easily wipeable . Use a lightly moistened cloth with a non-abrasive, soap or disinfectant. Cleaning agents containing alcohol or caustic components may damage and/or discolour surfaces.

Calibration & Maintenance

The ergometer should be calibrated and serviced once per year. Our team of experienced engineers, use our dedicated Lode calibrator to check the ergometers power output at a variety of power increments and cadences. Giving you peace of mind that the ergometer is fully functional and as accurate as the day it left the factory.

Further Options include:

Adjustable cranks for perfect positioning

Adjustable Crank MR Ergometer
