What makes a Lode Treadmill?

Lode treadmills are designed to be used safely in a Sport and Medical environment. They can be used as a stand-alone device or they can be controlled by external ECG- or Cardiopulmonary equipment.

The speed and incline of the treadmill can be adjusted in small increments (0.1 km/h or %) according to the user’s specific needs and the test protocol. Lode treadmills can be accessed easily by all patient groups due to their low step height and the low motor cover allows for an unimpeded view of the users gait.

All treadmills come standard with an emergency stop button and lanyard to offer optimal safety.

High Standards

Lode is a socially and environmentally responsible company. All Lode products are RoHS/WEE compliant and Lode is ISO 9001:2015, and ISO 13485:2016 certified. All medical products comply to MDD 93/42/EEC, incl. IEC 60601-1.

Child friendly – Lode Valiant 2 Paediatric Treadmill

The Lode Valiant 2 Paediatric treadmill is compact, with a belt size of 127cm x 50cm and elevation range of 0 – 25%, capable in a variety of applications. The treadmill is not supplied as standard with any display, for manual operation there are several display options to choose from.

Easy to Clean

All surfaces on the Lode Valiant 2 Paediatric Treadmill are easily wipeable thanks to their gloss finish. Use a lightly moistened cloth with a non-abrasive, soap or disinfectant. Cleaning agents containing alcohol or caustic components may damage and/or discolour surfaces.

Display options

7″ Touchscreen Control Unit

The 7″ Colour Touchscreen is available in two models, Standard and Programmable. Both models of 7″ touchscreens further enhance the capability of the Lode Valiant 2 Paediatric Treadmill by allowing manual control of the speed and elevation of the treadmill. The below parameters can be visualised on the 7″ Touchscreen display:

  • Actual and target inclination
  • Actual and target speed
  • Distance
  • Time
  • Energy
  • Mode
  • Heart Rate (If purchased separately)
  • Blood Pressure (If purchased separately)
  • SpO2 (If purchased separately)

For full automation of a treadmill protocol, the 7″ Programmable touchscreen control unit is recommended.

7″ Programmable Touchscreen Control Unit

The 7″ Programmable Touchscreen Control Unit enables testing and training on Lode devices with a controlled change in workload during exercise with the use of protocols. Protocols manage the speed and inclination of the Lode Valiant 2 Paediatric Treadmill during exercise in; steps, ramps or even a heart rate controlled function* without having to change this manually during exercise.

Defining the protocols beforehand not only provides a controlled workload, but also gives room to focus on the test subjects during exercise. Up to 50 protocols can be programmed.

  • Balke Treadmill protocol
  • Balke modified Treadmill protocol
  • Bruce Treadmill Protocol
  • Bruce (Mod) Treadmill protocol
  • Bruce (pediatric) Treadmill Protocol
  • Chung Treadmill protocol
  • Chung (LL) Treadmill protocol
  • Claudicationet Treadmill protocol
  • Ellestad Treadmill protocol
  • Naughton Treadmill protocol

*Requires purchase of Heart Rate option.

3.5″ Colour second screen

The 3.5″ Colour second screen is used to display information to the test subject on the treadmill, such as:

  • Speed
  • Elevation
  • Test time
  • Heart rate(when available)

Other options

Handrails

Fixed Handrail (Yellow) for Lode Valiant 2 Paediatric Treadmill

Optional fixed side handrails. Suitable for Valiant 2 Paediatric treadmill with a walking surface of 127 x 50 cm.

Adjustable Fixed Handrail (Yellow) for Lode Valiant 2 Paediatric Treadmill

Optional side handrails that are adjustable over a wide range. Suitable for Valiant 2 Paediatric treadmill with a walking surface of 127 x 50 cm.

Safety Belt & Fall Stop

The safety belt & fall stop option has to be mounted on the optional fixed side handrails of the Lode Valiant 2 Paediatric treadmill and is supplied with a harness (Large). The safety belt and fall stop prevents the test subject from falling off the running belt.

Adjustable Acceleration & Deceleration rate

This option makes it possible to adjust the speed of the acceleration (and deceleration) for the Lode Valiant 2 Paediatric treadmill. The standard acceleration is set to 6 seconds per 10 km. The adjustable acceleration and deceleration option allows you to set the value between 3 and 24 seconds per 10 km.

Higher Speed

The standard speed for the Lode Valiant 2 Paediatric Treadmill is 12 Km/h, with the speed option this can be extended to 20 Km/h. In adding the extra speed, the minimum speed is now 0.5 Km/h rather than 0.1 Km/h.

Blood Pressure

The blood pressure monitor is designed for blood pressure measurements during physical activity. Thanks to mechanical and electrical filtering, the BP readings remain reliable even during high load exercise tests. For both stress and resting BP reading, the original auscultatory Korotkov / Riva-Rocci method is used.

Thanks to a built-in speaker, original Korotkoff sounds are clearly reproduced. An ECG trigger is not needed for reliable BP readings, although it is available if desired. Measurement time is very short (usually within 30 seconds) thanks to the rapid cuff inflation.

The blood pressure monitor can be used in 2 ways: Fully integrated control by all common ECG or CPET devices or as a stand alone device with automatic interval measurements.

Various Cuff sizes are available. The cuff is completely washable, thanks to the removeable microphone and inflation bag.

SpO2

This option gives the SpO2 on the display of the control unit of treadmills and can only be ordered in combination with the (Programmable) 7″ touchscreen.

Entrance plate

A sloping plate to be placed at the rear of the treadmill.

Lode Ergometry Manager 10 – Software to suit your needs

The Lode Ergometry Manager (LEM) is a software package used for controlling Lode ergometers and treadmills.

Easily create and edit protocols

The software enables the operator to program protocols, visualise, save, analyse treadmill data and print customised reports in PDF. Commonly used treadmill protocols are pre programmed as standard.

LEM provides a patient database and the possibility to connect to a SQL server or the Hospital Information System (HIS) with HL7 should this be required. LEM 10 is also backwards compatible with previous versions, allowing you import and use your existing database easily.

Service & Warranty

All Lode products are manufactured with precision to ensure reliability in all applications.

Lode treadmills are almost maintenance free, due to the unique wax impregnated belt, no belt-greasing and no bearing-greasing is required. The belt may periodically need to be re-centred as part of scheduled user maintenance. The expected lifespan of a belt is approximately 10,000 km.

The Lode Valiant 2 Paediatric Treadmill has a 12 months parts and labour warranty. Extended warranty is available for an additional 4 years (5 in total).

Cranlea offer a comprehensive annual maintenance service, checking the running and electrical parts of the treadmill whilst calibrating the speed. It is recommended that an annual service is carried out. Contact our service team here.
