Woodway Treadmills

The Woodway Curve Treadmill uses a predicted Calorie Counter calculated using a standardised method derived from the ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine) formula. This formula, estimates energy expenditure based on the metabolic equivalent of the activity (METs), the user's weight in kilograms, and a conversion factor. For consistency, predictions are based on a standard weight of 150 pounds (approximately 70 kilograms). By applying this formula, the results offer an accurate and scalable measure of workout intensity tailored to individual body weight, ensuring reliable assessments for fitness and activity tracking.

The life expectancy of a Woodway treadmill depends on several factors, including the model, frequency of use, maintenance, and the environment in which it is used. However, Woodway treadmills are renowned for their durability and longevity, often lasting significantly longer than standard treadmills.

• Home Use: With proper care, a Woodway treadmill used in a home setting can last well over 10 years.
• Commercial Use: In high-usage environments like gyms, the lifespan may range from 7 to10 years, though some units last longer with excellent maintenance.

Our Non-Motorised treadmills have zero power requirements as the user drives the running surface. In these treadmills, the display will be battery powered. 

Our Motorised range of treadmills* are supplied with a UK 3 Pin Plug and follow general power specifications of: 

• Home Use: Require 230v outlet, minimum Type C, 16amp MCB.
• Commercial Use: In high-usage environments like gyms, the power requirements are different and the amount of load on a given circuit can be higher. In this environment, we require a 230v outlet, minimum Type C, 32amp MCB with only two treadmills installed on one circuit. 
• Speciality (Woodway ELG): 400v, 100amp dedicated 3 Phase Supply. 

The fastest speed of a Woodway treadmill depends on the model, as they are designed for a range of uses, from rehabilitation to high-performance athletic training. Here's an overview:

General Maximum Speeds:

1. Standard Models (e.g., 4Front, Path):
   • Maximum speed: 12.5 mph (20 km/h)
     These models are designed for most fitness and commercial use, catering to running, walking, and interval training.
   • 24 km/h - Speed upgrade available. 
2. High-Performance Models (e.g., Pro, Pro XL, ELG*):
   • Maximum speed: 15 mph (24 km/h)
     These treadmills are tailored for athletes and high-intensity workouts.
   • 25 km/h - Speed upgrade available. 
   • *ELG (Only) is capable of speeds of 25 mph (40 km/h)
3. Curve Treadmill Models (Manual):
   • Maximum speed: Unlimited (manual operation)
     The speed on Woodway Curve treadmills is determined by the user's effort, with no motor-imposed speed limit. Users can reach sprinting speeds exceeding 20 mph, depending on their capabilities.

The elevation range of a Woodway treadmill varies by model, as different treadmills are designed for specific uses such as general fitness, athletic training, or rehabilitation. Below is a general breakdown of the incline and decline capabilities for popular Woodway models:

Typical Elevation Ranges:

1. Standard Motorised Models (e.g., Woodway 4Front):
   • Incline Range: 0% to 15%
     These models are designed for general and commercial use, offering a challenging incline for running and walking.
   • Can be upgraded to 25%
2. Performance Models (e.g., Pro, Pro XL):
   • Incline Range: 0% to 25%
3. Speciality Model (e.g., ELG, Ridgerunner): 
   • Incline Range: -5% to +35%

     These treadmills cater to high-performance training and advanced fitness needs, providing steeper inclines for intensive workouts.

4. Manual Treadmill Models (e.g., Woodway Curve, Curve Trainer and Curve LTG):
   • Incline Range: Fixed; the Curve mimics an incline of 5%, where as the Curve Trainer,Curve LTG and Curve FTG mimic a slight incline of 3%. These non-motorised treadmills do not adjust electronically.
     Users can achieve variable resistance when using the Curve FTG based on their effort but cannot modify incline levels.
5. Medical Models (e.g., PPS):
   • Incline Range: 0% to 15% (typical for rehabilitation-focused treadmills).
     Some rehabilitation treadmills offer lower maximum inclines to accommodate therapeutic needs.
6. Decline Capability:
   • It is possible to include a slight decline option for specific training or therapeutic purposes. This is only available on Mercury, 4Front, Pro or Pro XL. In this case, the elevation range will be -3% to +22%.
