Slat Belt Technology
The non-motorised Curve XL is made possible by Woodway's patented Slat Belt running surface. This near-frictionless system allows the belt to glide smoothly beneath your feet. Paired with the innovative curved design, users gain full control over their pace. To accelerate, simply start running; to slow down, let yourself drift back along the curve. It's all about body position and the natural pull of gravity.
Lower Overall Running Costs
Designed for longevity, the Slat Belt running surface lasts up to 150,000 miles without requiring a belt change or deck replacement. With 112 ball bearings, the belt moves effortlessly, resulting in years of use with minimal maintenance and zero electrical consumption. There's no need to adjust belt tension, thanks to a design that utilises tracking rollers and a toothed pulley. Plus, being non-motorised means there are no electrical components to replace, further reducing upkeep costs.

FAQ
How Accurate Is the Calorie Counter on the Curve Treadmill?
The Woodway Curve Treadmill uses a predicted Calorie Counter calculated using a standardised method derived from the ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine) formula. This formula, estimates energy expenditure based on the metabolic equivalent of the activity (METs), the user's weight in kilograms, and a conversion factor. For consistency, predictions are based on a standard weight of 150 pounds (approximately 70 kilograms). By applying this formula, the results offer an accurate and scalable measure of workout intensity tailored to individual body weight, ensuring reliable assessments for fitness and activity tracking.
What Is the Life Expectancy of a Woodway Treadmill?
The life expectancy of a Woodway treadmill depends on several factors, including the model, frequency of use, maintenance, and the environment in which it is used. However, Woodway treadmills are renowned for their durability and longevity, often lasting significantly longer than standard treadmills.
- Home Use: With proper care, a Woodway treadmill used in a home setting can last well over 10 years.
- Commercial Use: In high-usage environments like gyms, the lifespan may range from 7 to10 years, though some units last longer with excellent maintenance.
Key Features Contributing to Longevity:
- Slat Belt Design: Woodway's unique slat belt system reduces friction and wear, extending the lifespan of the belt and reducing motor strain.
- Low Maintenance: The belts require less frequent replacement compared to traditional treadmill belts.
- High-Quality Construction: Woodway treadmills use premium materials and components designed for durability.
What Electrical Requirements Are There?
The power requirements of a Woodway treadmill vary depending on the specific model and its intended use (home, commercial or speciality).
Our Non-Motorised treadmills have zero power requirements as the user drives the running surface. In these treadmills, the display will be battery powered.
Our Motorised range of treadmills* are supplied with a UK 3 Pin Plug and follow general power specifications of:
- Home Use: Require 230v outlet, minimum Type C, 16amp MCB.
- Commercial Use: In high-usage environments like gyms, the power requirements are different and the amount of load on a given circuit can be higher. In this environment, we require a 230v outlet, minimum Type C, 32amp MCB with only two treadmills installed on one circuit.
- Speciality (Woodway ELG): 400v, 100amp dedicated 3 Phase Supply.
