What makes a Lode Ergometer?

Ever since Freerk Lode manufactured the first electro-magnetic bicycle ergometer in 1952, accuracy, reliability and durability have been fundamental for future product developments. Having started in the market of cardiology and pulmonary function, Lode BV has become the world market leader in Ergometry. Lode’s product range covers the the complete spectrum of medical ergometry.

The eddy current electro-magnetic braking mechanism is synonymous to all Lode Ergometers. Eddy current braking systems offer quiet, smooth, precise and adjustable control. Through design, this allows control of the workload without the need for physical contact between brake pads and the flywheel, reducing wear and tear.

Perfect for Stress Testing

The Lode Corival CPET workload is adjustable in 1 watt increments and in the range of 7 to 1000 watts. This offers a wide working range for test subjects of all strengths and abilities. The communication module built into the Lode Corival CPET will easily connect with our range of Cortex Metabolic devices or ECG devices.

The ultralow step-through enables easy access to the ergometer and combined with the easily adjusted handlebar it guarantees a perfect ergonomic position. The saddle height can be read out via the scale on the saddle shaft or digitally, via the optional 7″ touchscreen.

Easy to Clean

All surfaces on the Lode Corival CPET are easily wipeable thanks to their gloss finish. Use a lightly moistened cloth with a non-abrasive, soap or disinfectant. Cleaning agents containing alcohol or caustic components may damage and/or discolour surfaces.

Hidden Connectors

All cables and connections are underneath the ergometer, reducing the risk of wires accidentally being knocked or pulled out and give a cleaner look.

7″ Touchscreen Control Unit

The 7″ Colour Touchscreen is available in two models, Standard and Programmable. Both models of 7″ touchscreen further enhance the capability of the Lode Corival CPET by allowing the ergometer to be used as a standalone piece of equipment in manual mode.

In manual mode, the Lode Corival CPET can be used in Hyperbolic (rpm independent), Linear (rpm dependent) and Fixed Torque (rpm dependent) modes. In addition there is also an option for Manual with Target, which allows for manual control set by time, distance or energy target – if purchased, this can also be controlled via Heart Rate (HR). By where a desired HR range is set and the ergometer will control the power output, to keep the test subject within the defined HR range.

Add Programmer features to 7″ Touchscreen Control Unit

The program function enables testing and training on Lode devices with a controlled change in workload during exercise. Protocols manage the load during exercise in steps, ramps or even a heart rate controlled function without having to change this manually. Defining the protocols beforehand not only provides a controlled workload but also gives room to focus on the test subjects during exercise. Up to 50 protocols can be programmed.

Heart Rate

This option gives the heart rate in beats per minute on the touchscreen display and offers the possibility of heart rate controlled testing. The test person wears a belt with a sensor. NB this can only be ordered in combination with the (Programmable) 7″ touchscreen.

Electric adjustable saddle

With this option, the saddle of the Lode Corival CPET can be adjusted in a range of 30 cm using the 7″ colour touchscreen. The patient can be seated on the saddle while adjusting the height. The saddle height can also be adjusted with the Lode Ergometry Manager (LEM) software if you have this. Saddle height cannot be adjusted through an interface with a CPET system.

NB: this option cannot be combined with the:
– optional shortened saddle shaft
– optional 0-Watt start-up system

Blood Pressure

The blood pressure monitor is designed for blood pressure measurements during physical activity. Thanks to mechanical and electrical filtering, the BP readings remain reliable even during high load exercise tests. For both stress and resting BP reading, the original auscultatory Korotkov / Riva-Rocci method is used.

Thanks to a built-in speaker, original Korotkoff sounds are clearly reproduced. An ECG trigger is not needed for reliable BP readings, although it is available if desired. Measurement time is very short (usually within 30 seconds) thanks to the rapid cuff inflation.

The blood pressure monitor can be used in 2 ways: Fully integrated control by all common ECG or CPET devices or as a stand alone device with automatic interval measurements.

Various Cuff sizes are available. The cuff is completely washable, thanks to the removeable microphone and inflation bag.

Assistive Start-up

The zero-watt startup option allows to you to start the ergometer without load at a preset pedal speed (between 30 – 60 rpm). With this option there is no energy-loss for the Test Subject due to the start-up phase. This is done via an electric motor and can only be used in conjunction with a 7″ touchscreen. It is not possible to combine the zero watt option with the electric saddle adjustment.

Adjustable Cranks

Adjustability of the cranks allows for optimal force application of different limb lengths and helps tailor the ergonomics of the ergometer to best fit the test subject. The cranks are adjustable in the range of 80 – 180 mm, in steps of 5 mm. This option will be supplied instead of the standard cranks.

SpO2

This option gives the SpO2 on the display of the control unit of ergometers and can only be ordered in combination with the (Programmable) 7″ touchscreen.

Shortened Saddle Shaft

With the shortened saddle shaft option the saddle of the ergometer can be adjusted to the lowest position possible. The saddle is adjustable in a range of 452 – 775 mm. The minimum leg length (with standard pedals) is 622 mm and with adjustable cranks 532 mm. The minimum saddle height is 452 mm.

NB: this option cannot be combined with the electric adjustable saddle height

The transportation wheel that can be mounted under the Corival CPET to easily move your ergometer.

Service & Warranty

All Lode products are manufactured with precision to ensure reliability in all applications.

Maintenance should be carried out on a regular, planned basis and Lode recommend the Lode Corival CPET to be checked annually. It is also recommended that a record of the service history is kept for all activities relating to service and maintenance.

The Lode Corival CPET has a 12 months parts and labour warranty. Extended warranty is available for an additional 4 years (5 in total).
