The Hans Rudolph Calibration Syringes deliver a known calibrated air volume as a standard for a reliable method of calibrating and measuring the accuracy of respiratory volume measuring equipment in the field on a regular basis to satisfy your quality assurance program.
Volume calibration syringes are designed for testing and calibrating flow and volume measurement devices used in the respiratory device market. The calibration syringes are manually operated by actuating the piston rod in and out of the cylinder assembly. The outlet port of the syringe shall be attached to the device under test.
The calibration syringe when actuated shall deliver known volumes of air into the flow or volume measurement device. The operator then compares the calibration syringe volume delivered with the volume results obtained from the device under test to determine the accuracy.

Before using your CPET system for measurement, you must calibrate the Flow Sensor (Usually Triple V volume sensor) and the Gas Sensor (O2 and CO2). This synchronises your system with the environmental conditions such as pressure and humidity, ensuring that your device is working precisely. Maintenance
It is recommended that Calibration Syringes should be checked at a minimum one time each year. We recommend that when you have a yearly service on your CPET system, you have your syringe calibrated too. Cranlea offer a syringe calibration service that is carried out on our premises. If you ensure that your syringe has been maintained correctly, and has had a yearly calibration, your syringe should last you for several years. Please contact our service team for more information.
As well as yearly calibrations, ensure that you carry out visual inspections before every use. Calibration syringes should be leak tested at several volumes monthly use plugs in the outlet while attempting to empty or fill the syringe. You should also carry our daily tests for smoother operation of the syringe with no sticking or catching.
